The merino is sourced from farms in Argentina and Uruguay that do not practise mulesing. The yak fibre is the soft fine underhair of the animal's coat - its warmth and breathability enables the yak to survive the cold temperatures of the Himalayas. It's an ethical alternative to the highly prized cashmere.
All three fibres together make this yarn truly delightful in appearance and texture, its sheen and softness are something else.
Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn batches containing slight differences, please ensure you buy enough yarn for your project. I cannot guarantee that future batches will match exactly.
Hand dyed using professional acid dyes by me, in a smoke free but feline friendly environment.
I recommend cold hand wash only with an appropriate wool safe product, and dry flat. Every effort has been made to ensure that the yarn is colourfast, but you may experience a small amount of colour leakage in the first wash.
Please note, while this is a fingering/4 ply yarn, socks created with this yarn may not be hard-wearing, owing to the lack of nylon, or high twist.
